German work permit - part 2
I submitted the following documents for my “Employment” visa application:
Two sets of the following:
2) Declaration of True and Complete information
3) Annexure: Employment Visa
4) Personal Covering Letter explaining the exact purpose and duration of stay (As this was not a deputation I had to write a short personal covering letter)
5) Work Contract from the company in Germany and covering letter from German company
6) Curriculum Vitae (One Page)
7) Copy of Degree Certificate (10 and 12 not necessary)
8) Copy of Passport data page (Page containing your photograph and page containing your address)
9) 3 photographs as per Biometric Specifications (1 photograph is pasted in each of the residence permit application forms, while 1 photograph is returned back after scanning, white background for photo)
Keep extra documents with two Xerox copies in case you need them.
1) Form 16
2) 10 ,12 mark-sheets
3) Salary slips
4) Appointment letters
5) Experience letter
etc.
Demand Draft with two copies of filled-in Demand Draft Form to be kept separately:
This needs to be in favour of “Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mumbai”. The draft should be of the exact amount as mentioned in the German Mission website. (Drafts with amounts different from the amounts mentioned in the German Mission websites are simply not accepted). All nationalized banks are allowed. It’s important to write down the Name, Passport Number and Mobile Number on the back side of the draft so that it can be traced in case it’s accidentally misplaced by them. This needs to be accompanied with two filled in copies of the “Demand Draft Form”.
After arranging all these documents, I had to go to a Token Issuing counter for getting these documents checked. After the brief check, I was issued a Token and asked to go to the Air-Conditioned interview waiting area.
In the Interview waiting area, there were 5 counters and each interview lasted for an average of about 1 hour 20 mins as there was some problem with the system.
When my token number was announced, I went to the interview counter along with my wife and presented my documents. Interviewer was a Indian lady.

Hi sachin,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to check if for applying for embassy in Mumbai any proof of address in Maharasthra is required? The reason I ask is that while my passport was from Mumbai I have since moved to Pune and dont have a proof of license in the house here ( live with my parents).
I do not recollect proof of address being required. But you can carry electricity bill which may have your parents name and your passport also contains their name. So it can act as a address proof it required. As your passport is from Mumbai you fall under Mumbai embassy anyway.
ReplyDeletethanks Sachin for your answer. I had another question. As I was filling in the form (http://www.india.diplo.de/contentblob/4416790/Daten/4777010/Antrag_National.pdf)
ReplyDeletesome parts of it seemed different form your description. Am I using the right one? Also somewhere you had mentioned a checklist that the Embassy guard gives (photo on trust7) but I could not find the link. Would you have iut?
Also, in the applicaiton form it says ": I intend to stay no longer than twelve months in the Federal territory and apply for a visa that covers the
ReplyDeletewhole duration of my stay." . I am assuming this is not to be selected?
The form keeps on changing so the form you are filling has changed from the form that I filled and is correct. About the checklist from guard it is just a photo I do not have a link. I think you should tick the intended stay part. If in doubts you can ask the consulate. As you will initially be grated only 3-6 months entry visa and upon arrival in Germany you have to extend it.
DeleteHi Sachin, Thanks for all your help. Got a visa approval in 15 days :)
ReplyDeleteTwo specific questions on stamping process
a. For insurance, where did you get yours from for 6 months?
b. I have a letter/certificate from SBK insurance company saying I am insured from 1 Jan 2018. Will this suffice?
c. For future travel date is it ok to give a period of 1 month like 15 Dec-15 Jan? I am still trying to finalize notice period with company
Thanks a lot again
They have a site for list of insurance that are acceptable.
ReplyDeleteI took from ICICI lombart, I do not remember which all are included. You can refer their site for list of insurance providers. I do not know if SBK is included you need to check. Travel date can be furture date as it is just a tentative date but should not be 3 months from today I guess. I your travel date is 15 December I would suggest give 1 December as travel date. Then your insurance should also start from 1 December.
Thanks SAchin. 3 months will be till 25 Jan. I was planning on giving 15 Dec so that in worst case I can still go on 15 Jan in case my notice period is extended. My question is when they stamp the visa is there a period that you need to travel within say 1 month in which case I have to travel before that period expires?
ReplyDeleteNow a days you will get 6 months entry visa which you will then need to extend once you are in Germany. There is no rule or mandate to enter Germany within any period. Only thing is you need to Enter and etend your visa before expiry of this initial visa. It takes from 1 month to 3 months to extend your visa in Germany. To clear about extension of visa, now you will get only a entry visa which is valid for 6 months from the date you have given example if you give 15 Dec 2017 it will be starting from 15 December 2017 and will be valid for 6 months till 15 May 2018. You have to Enter and apply for a Blue card or work permit within this 6 months in Germany. This process is very simple but for this you will need some documents which need time. So I would advice you travel to Germany as soon as you get your visa stamped and 15 December if you get you can travel on 15 Jan np problem.
ReplyDeleteThank you so Much Sachin . really helpful. By the way they asked me for a travel insurance for 6 months. Iam planning on taking the ICICI lombard one as well. Is there a particular amount you insured for - $ 50K or $100K?
ReplyDeleteI do not remember, but they have a Minimum amount constraint just take some amount above that. Because when you will arrive in Germany you will have to take Public/Private Health insurance here. In my blogs you will have information about all you can go through my blogs for what all things you will need to do once you enter Germany.
