German work permit - part 4
Filling in the Visa Application Form:
I followed the instructions given at the link https://www.facebook.com/german.masters/posts/335699309844321
Contents pasted below for reference. I changed some responses as my application was for a Employment visa, not a Student visa:
To fill visa application form :
1. You Family Name (This should be exactly as in the passport)
2. You first name (This should be exactly as in the passport)
3. DOB in the format of dd/mm/yyyy. This format is the official German format.
4. Place of Birth : This is mentioned in your passport. Write the exact thing as is written in the passport. Do not add or subtract anything.
5. Nationality : You must mention you current as well as any previous nationalities that you have given up. It clearly says each nationality should be stated.
6. Marital Status : Announce your marital status here. Strike out the non-applicable status with one single line in whichever language you are filling. If you are filling in English, and in case you are single, strike out the other three with one straight line. I would suggest, along with English, also strike out the bold German version as that is more legible and comprehendible and bigger in size. Even if you don’t, it does not matter.
7. Spouse Details : This should of course only be filled if you are married. Follow the steps 1 to 5 in filling the details.
8. Children Details : This should of course only be filled if you are married. Follow the steps 1 to 5 in filling the details.
9. Father : Write your father's Family name in the first line and First name and second and any following names in teh second line exactly as in passport.
10. Mother : Write your mother's Family name in the first line and First name and second and any following names in teh second line exactly as in passport.
11. Passport or Other Travel Documents : Write PASSPORT in the first line. If you have any other travel document, write its name. The Passport number in the second line, date till which it is valid in the third line. Issued by (Maybe Passport officer or Assitant Passport officer) in the fourth line. The designation of the issuing authority is given in the stamp on the first page(the page immediately after the information page) in the Passport. Finally write the Date of issue in the last line. I wrote “Passport Office, Pune”
12. Authorization to return to : Write the place from where your passport is issued. I left this blank.
13. Entered Germany on : Not to be completed if the application is made outside the Germany. Just leave it blank.
14. Have you ever stayed in Germany before : Strike out whichever is not applicable with one single line. If you have been to Germany before, write yes and mention from and to and the place below. I left this blank.
15. Proposed Place of Residence : Now this is one place where everyone gets stuck. I think most of us do not have a place of residence finalized when we start our visa application. So, you can write the complete address of the Employer. Be careful since it does asks for address and not just the City of your residence. I repeat, write the address of the Employer. I wrote the address of the company I’ll be joining at Germany.
16. Arrived on : Not to be completed if the application is made outside the Germany. Just leave it blank.
17. Do you intend to maintain your permanent residence outside the Federal Republic of Germany? If so, Where? : write yes if you intend to keep your current nationality. I suggest you to write yes as right now we are just going for studies and wanting to gain another Nationality is a matter of different decision at a different point of time. In the space below, write the country of your current Nationality. I wrote Yes.
18. Will you be accompanied by the members of your family? : Yes.
19. How are you accommodated? : Not to be completed if the application is made outside the Germany. Just leave it blank and dont strike out anything.
20. Purpose of stay in Germany : EMPLOYMENT
Employer : COMPANY NAME
Contact Person in Germany : Company contact person, Complete Address, Contact number
Intended Employment : One line on the job profile
21. Highest Vocational or Academic Profession : Bachelor of Engineering
22. Are you already in possession of a permit issued by a German labour office : Strike out with a single line whichever is not applicable. I wrote NO
23. Intended duration of stay in the Federal Republic of Germany : I wrote from The joining date to Unlimited.
24. What are your means of subsistence? : Write "FINANCIAL SUPPORT BY PARENTS" or "EDUCATION LOAN" whichever is applicable. If you are being financially supported by any other source, like any other family member or a scholarship, write accordingly. I chose “Own funds(Salary)”
25. Have you ever been convicted? : Strike out whichever is not applicable. I hope everyone strikes out YES
26. Have you ever been expelled....................refused entry into Germany? : Write "YES" or "NO" whichever is applicable.
27. a) Do you suffer from any disease? Strike out whichever is not applicable. Be honest in mentioning this.
b) Do you have a health insurance cover for the Federal Republic of Germany? : All of us do not have a Health insurance from a German Carrier. We will get it once we reach there. So, write "NO. I WILL TAKE ONCE I REACH GERMANY". I wrote NO.
PAGE 4: I hereby apply for a residence permit for 2 YEARS. Again this is just tentative. Strike out Days and Months. Write your complete present address, Place, Date and put your signature. Make sure the address you write falls under the jurisdiction of the embassy that you are applying to. They are likely to send you back if the address doesn't fall in their area. Paste the Visa photo in both the forms. I wrote 2 years.
Fill in your contact details and sign the form.
Place in the forms, letters etc should be Mumbai and date should be your appointment date.
PS : You can show a travel insurance at the time of application valid for the period that you think you would be going, maybe for 1 month or 2. But I think it is not an important document. At least they didn't ask in Mumbai for this. Please confirm with your embassy. Even I did not produce a Travel Insurance. This is required during stamping.
Please refer your respective Embassy website for the docs to be attached with the application.

ID of approval of Federal Employment Agency: Keep this blank if not available
Residential address in German: I filled in employers headquarters address
Will your family accompany you? : Yes.

Hi Sachin,
ReplyDeleteCan you please provide me details about personal cover letter for spouse. As i am traveeling to germany with my husband as dependent even I am supposed to provide personal cover.
Can you please forward me the cover letters.
Thanks & Regards,
Ashwini
I do not have the template as I did this a while ago. But its very simple as you need to provide your details, your husbands details (DOB, passport number, name etc) and your purpose of travel and basic details like your Qualifikation and place where you live and end it with politely requesting them to accept your visa.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info!
DeleteDear Sachin,
ReplyDeleteI also have applied Germany visa under work permit category in New Delhi on 18th October without FEA approval and didn't received any response till now. What should i do in this case as my employment is going to start from 1st November 2017.
Please suggest.
I am not sure about the timings as it completely depends case to case. You can just wait for the confirmation. If you do not receive in Time you can ask your Employer to postpone the start date. I feel 18 Oct is too early for 1 November Start. Because after the confirmation also it will take at least few more days for stamping.
ReplyDeleteHi Sachin , just read your blog and its very informative , just want to know one thing , I can see the check list for family reunion for wife and checklist for family reunion for children , but in my case i want apply for dependent visa , so the check list and type of document remain same in both cases , how one would identify if it is dependent of family re-union
ReplyDeleteDependent visa is family reunion. The process is like you apply for family reunion in India. If approved you will be granted a entry visa for 3 or 6 months. Then you have to travel to Germany and extend it. Its a very simple process to extend you will need just few more documents like house agreement German health insurance, anmeldung(registration) etc. This extended visa is dependent on your husbands visa and is known as dependent visa.
DeleteHi Sachin,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all this is amazingly helpful.
I had some questions as below:
1. Can my spouse work under a Family Reunion visa?
2. AS above, can you please help us with the Family reunion visa form?
3. My employer has applied for a FEA approval if in case I get a FEA APPROVAL are there any changes in the above mentioned form?
4. Have you processed the blue card yet? And in case you have then how?
5. In case of my spouse and I have different date of travel since I would be traveling first and then she will be joining me a bit later then in that case what should I write in :
Will you be accompanied by the members of your family field?
I will try to answer as per my knowledge.
Delete1) Yes she can work, if she gets a job as per blue card specs she can convert this dependent visa to blue card as well.
2) I really forgot about filling the form, you can ask me some specific points in the form.
3) Nope they do it internally.
4) Yes I have processed my blue card. Its fairly easy once you get accommodation here in Germany. You have to fill the same form again here and get appointment with the auslander(foreigners office) behorede.
5) Write Yes, Do not mention that she will travel afterwrds, just tell you are travelling together. Then once you get your approval you can change the dates. You can submit dates while stamping, that time you can give the date you want.
Hello Sachin,
ReplyDeleteI had been to Germany for a year (returned about a week ago), on a deputation contract.
I got a German work contract alongwith the Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit form (filled in and stamped by my future employer) so I intend to travel again.
I had a few questions in my mind:-
1) I have a degree (BE) in Mechanical whereas in the FEA approval it is written as BE Manufacturing. Is it an issue? I confirmed with another friend of mine (Indian) working in Munich, but he asked me to relax as it is not an issue. I still would like your insight on this?
2) If I take a travel health insurance for, say, 2 months of my initial stay (working with my new employer), is it good enough proof to be submitted to VFS Bangalore?
3) Can we apply for a German Health Insurance (AOK or TK) starting from , say, April 2018, from India itself?
I have an unlimited contract.
1) I really do not have a clue but I feel it should not be a issue.
ReplyDelete2) Duration of Travel insurance will be informed in visa approval email if not it should cover your entire entry visa duration. You can always call VFS and check.
3) Applying health insurance is a very easy process and you can do that once you are in Germany. No need to apply from India.
Thank you Sachin. Really appreciate your prompt replies.
ReplyDeletePertaining with point no. 3, I have one side-question. Does the visa office require only travel health insurance from their approved list of insurance providers? That is enough, right?
I asked this question, cuz I wanted to know whether they expect me to initiate the process of German health insurance with AOK, TK etc. from India itself or from Germany?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have not yet been relieved from my current employer. I am serving my notice period. So:-
1) Is it mandatory to carry the relieving papers from my previous employers?
2) Do the VISA office or Consulate investigate with my previous employer about me?
3) This is a descriptive question from my side. Imagine a situation. I was employed with employers A and B. When on my deputation with company B, I presented only the work done with employer B in the CV template of company B.
Now, while giving the interview for my new German company C, I mentioned the work done with both companies A and B.
Now, the question is, when I present the one page CV for joining company C (with which I have an unlimited contract) to VFS, should I just mention company B (as mentioned in the CV of my deputation contract with company B) or include both A and B.
Chronological order of my career is:-
1) Company A (first company March to June 2015)
2) Company B (July 2015 to Jan 2018)
3) Company C (starts from March 1st 2018)
Sachin,
ReplyDeleteRequesting you to please answer my query. I am in earnest
Hi Sachin,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the information. It is proving really helpful for my reunion visa processing preparation. I have one query.. I seem to have misplaced my birth certificate. It is mentioned separately in the Diplo list. I am just concerned in case I am not able to procure the birth certificate from authorities Can I use the 10th Markscard as the proof too? Or both are mandatory?
Regards and thanks in advance,
Shruti
Another additional question. I recently came to know that the dependent Visa takes 3 months of process time if the spouse has already been working in Germany for longer than a year. Is that true?
DeleteHi Sachin ...
ReplyDeleteOriginal employment contract is sent by post, seems lost in transit.
What happens if I don't have original contract in the interview for long term visa? Of course, I will have coloured print of the scanned copy.
They accepted coloured print. But they wanted original of FEA, which was submitted after interview and mission accomplished :)
DeleteI have queries regarding family reunion visa now. I request experienced visa holders also to help.
ReplyDelete1. Whether draft is necessary for verification? If yes, amount should be 45000? All other documents are in original and marriage certificate is certified.
2. If primary visa holder is eligible for Blue Card, A1 certificate is necessary for spouse?
3. Whether temple certificate is mandatory? Marriage took place in party plot, album is available. I am trying to get formal letter from Panditji.
Hi Bharat, did you find out about the first question? also does spouse need dd for visa fees as well?
